We take every step to ensure you are comfortable and at ease throughout the process, and we will work closely with you to discuss your options and guide you through each stage of treatment.

Tooth Extraction

There are several reasons why a tooth extraction may be necessary. Some teeth must be removed because they are severely decayed, affected by advanced periodontal disease, or broken beyond repair. Other teeth may require extraction because they are poorly positioned (such as impacted teeth) or to prepare for orthodontic treatment.

It’s important to understand that the removal of even a single tooth can affect your chewing ability, place stress on the jaw joint, and cause shifting of surrounding teeth. These issues can have a major long-term impact on your overall dental health, which is why we take every extraction seriously and plan carefully for your ongoing care.

Dental Implants

Dental implants are designed to provide a strong foundation for replacement teeth that look, feel, and function like natural teeth. Implants are tiny titanium posts placed into the jawbone where teeth are missing. Over time, the bone bonds with the titanium, creating a secure base for artificial teeth. Dental implants also help preserve facial structure by preventing the bone deterioration that occurs when teeth are missing.

The Dental Implant Procedure

For most patients, dental implant placement involves two surgical procedures:

  1. First Phase: Dental implants are surgically placed into the jawbone. For the next three to six months, the implants remain beneath the surface of the gums, gradually bonding with the bone. During this healing period, patients can wear temporary dentures and maintain a soft diet.
  2. Second Phase: Once the implant has fully bonded with the bone, the surgeon uncovers the implant and attaches a small healing collar. Dr. Maggie Abadan then begins designing your new teeth. Posts or attachments are connected to the implants, and your custom replacement teeth are created to fit securely in place.

The entire dental implant process typically takes six to eight months from start to finish, resulting in a restored, natural-looking smile.
